Larry Browning

Larry moved to Sunriver in 1988 along with his wife Lori and two children Erin and Dustin. Larry is part owner in Discover Sunriver and Operations Manager for the company. When Larry's not in the office he's most likely in one of his community service projects which include: Chamber of Commerce and past President of the Vacation Rental Managers Association. He has also served as a director on the COVA board. If Larry's not working you can probably find him on one of the 35 golf courses in Central Oregon. Larry and his wife bought the company in 2010 after running it for many years.

Lori Browning

Originally from the rainy side of the Cascades, Lori has called Sunriver home since 1988. She has been with Discover Sunriver Vacation Rentals for 23 years. Her favorite season is Summer for the outdoor activities it offers: hiking, camping and having fun with her family. She really enjoys getting to know the people that come to visit and the blue skies throughout every season and loves to travel when she can.

Jackie Hunt

Jackie has been with Discover Sunriver for 12 years as a Reservation Specialist and the Owner Liaison. Jackie was originally born in Ireland and immigrated to San Diego, California as a young girl. In San Diego she worked in the medical field for Ivac Corporation for 13 years before she, her husband and two sons moved to Sunriver in May of 1997. The first year in Oregon welcomed the addition of their sweet daughter. There is always a sports game to attend for one of her kids and the family enjoys all the winter and summer activities that Central Oregon has to offer. They especially enjoy camping and fishing and making trips to the beach!"

Kristy Upham

Kristy Upham has been with the Discover Sunriver reservations team for five years. She truly enjoys the people aspect of the job. "Often, you feel you are a friend with the person you make reservations for and you look forward to their arrival." She is married to Rick Upham, a real estate broker with Prudential Northwest Properties, who shares an office with us. When not at the office, she can be found trying to find the elusive good round of golf within her or being the great American Citizen she is by infusing her capital back into the economy of Central Oregon one store at a time.

Jake Ortman

Jake is our self-proclaimed geek who's in charge of all things tech at Discover Sunriver, but also helps with advertising and marketing. When he's not staring at a computer screen (which is most of the time), he's spending time with his wife and two kids, enjoying the various activities that central Oregon has to offer and playing in the percussion sections of a variety of local groups. Other than a four year stint in Eugene while he attended the University of Oregon to get his degree in journalism (Go Ducks!), he's lived in Central Oregon all of the 30+ years of his life.

Frank Janosek

Frank moved from Portland to central Oregon in May of 2004 seeking more space for his young growing family. Frank was hired on by Discover Sunriver Vacation Rentals his first summer in the area as a Maintenance Technician and has since been promoted to manager of the maintenance department. The most fullfilling part of the job according to Frank is, "being able to take care of any problems our guests may have as quickly as possible, so they can focus on enjoying their vacation." While not working, Frank enjoys camping, snowboarding, golfing, and mountain biking.

Jim Bergeron

Jim's early years were spent in Sand Point, Idaho where his love of the outdoors grew. In May of 1989 Jim answered the call of the wild and moved his family, wife Phyllis and two sons, to Sunriver. Here Jim and wife were able to continue their careers in retail outdoor clothing while sons graduated from Bend HS. Jim joined the staff at Discover Sunriver in April 2005 and when he is not in the mountains of Central Oregon enjoying skiing, hiking, and fishing, you will find him working with the fine men of the Maintenance Dept or inspiring the Reservations Dept. Jim looks forward to being part of the promising future he sees ahead for Discover Sunriver. It's really getting exciting!

Karla Hakkila

Karla is our newest member to our reservation team. Karla is originally from Southern California, but has been visiting Sunriver since the 1980s. When Karla is not at work, you can usually find her at Cultus Lake boating and fishing!

Cathy Ames

Cathy has worked for Discover Sunriver as a vacation planner since June of 2010. For 15 years she has been vacationing in Sunriver with her family. She has lived in California, on the east coast and Portland but when she moved to Bend in August of 2009 she found home. For 25 years, she worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She enjoys connecting with the customers at Discover Sunriver, hearing their stories and helping them create new vacation memories. She loves all winter sports and in the summer she enjoys, kayaking, hiking, biking, going to movies and dining out.

Chris Johnston

Chris moved to Central Oregon in 1999 with his family. He began working for Discover Sunriver Vacation Rentals as a Maintenance Technician in May of 2010. When he's not working Chris enjoys living in the area because of the many opportunities to take advantage of the great outdoors. Some of his interests include hiking, camping, hunting and day tripping to one of the many lakes in the area. Chis truly appreciates the great team of people he works with, and hopes to spend many more years as a part of that team.
