The house was fine. However, the jacuzzi didn't work, which is a major attraction for us and our kids. The management should make sure the jacuzzi works before renting. When we pointed it out after the first night, an attempt was made to fix it but it was not fixed in time for us to use it and the manager did not give us any report on the status of the attempted repair. When I returned the key, the management did not seem to be aware of the problem and I had to mention that, per the contract, we are entitled to $40 back (which frankly really isn't sufficient given how disappointed my kids were), she basically just said she'd look into it (though I assume we will be reimbursed and will check). Maybe you can use this as a "teachable moment" for staff because this situation really wasn't handled well.
Manager Response
Thank you for your feedback Mr. Newman and we are sorry the hot tub temperature became an issue during your stay. The hot tub company that services this home has confirmed your request for service as early as Saturday morning, and they are also reporting a heating element was replaced by mid day on Saturday. After confirmation of these details your credit card has been credited per our rental ageement terms as you noted. Thanks again for giving us and the hot tub company a "teaching moment" for our employees in the process of investigating these types of issues.
